+What is tessel?

A shared 64×64 canvas of 4,096 cells. Each cell can be claimed by launching a real coin on pump.fun, and the cell's art is inscribed permanently on Solana. Anyone can rebuild the whole grid — owners, coins and images — from Solana's transaction history alone.

+Is my image really stored on-chain? Where?

Yes. When you claim a cell, your image is resized to 32×32 pixels (at most 3,000 bytes) and written directly into Solana transactions using the SPL Memo program:

  • a manifest transaction recording the image's type, size and SHA-256 hash, and
  • image data transactions carrying the bytes in pieces of up to 500 bytes (a standard Solana transaction is limited to 1,232 bytes).

A cell only counts as inscribed once the site has reassembled those pieces and checked they match the hash. Click any claimed cell on the grid to see the on-chain 32×32 copy and links to its inscription transactions on Solscan.

Your full-size image is also uploaded to IPFS as your coin's pump.fun image, and the grid shows it (resized) so cells are sharp when you zoom in. Its IPFS address is a hash of the file and is locked into your coin's launch transaction, so it can't be swapped later. The on-chain inscription is the permanent copy that doesn't depend on any server or IPFS.

+How does claiming a cell work?

Three wallet prompts, and nothing is spent until the second one:

  1. A free signature proving the wallet is yours (no transaction, no fee) so the site will upload your image and reserve you an address.
  2. The launch on pump.fun, including your optional dev buy.
  3. The cell claim + image inscription, all approved together.
+What if someone claims my cell while I'm setting up?

Cells aren't reserved, so that can happen — and it's handled for you. The site checks the cell is still free right before you launch, and if a claim loses a race anyway, your coin is claimed onto another open cell automatically and the page tells you which one. Your coin is never lost or wasted.

+What is a dev buy?

An optional amount of SOL you spend buying your own coin in the very same transaction that creates it — so nobody can buy in before you. The claim page shows roughly how many tokens (and what share of supply) your dev buy gets before you launch.

+What does it cost?

The hold and inscription transactions cost normal Solana network fees (fractions of a cent each). Launching on pump.fun costs about 0.006 SOL in rent and fees, plus any dev buy. Your wallet shows the exact amount before you approve anything.

+Can someone take my cell?

Once claimed, a cell is yours permanently — the first valid claim wins and later ones are ignored. A claim only counts if it's signed by the coin's creator and points to a real pump.fun launch of that coin that happened before the claim, so nobody can claim with a fake coin or someone else's, and only the creator can inscribe a cell's image.

+How are the leaderboards calculated?

Only coins whose cell claim and image inscription are verified on-chain are ranked.

  • Volume is the SOL value of every buy and sell of the coin, read from pump.fun's own on-chain trade events — on the bonding curve, and on PumpSwap after the coin graduates. Unique traders are shown alongside it.
  • This round ranks coins by volume in the current 3-hour round — the top 3 win rewards (see below). Past rounds lists every round's winners.
  • All-time volume, first inscribed (the order cells' images were first completed on-chain) and creators (volume across each wallet's cells) are ongoing records.

New coins' history is read in the background, so an all-time total marked * can still grow for a while.

+How do rewards work?
  • Rewards run in 3-hour rounds on a fixed schedule — rounds start at 01:00, 04:00, 07:00, 10:00, 13:00, 16:00, 19:00, 22:00 UTC. Round #0 started Wed, 16 Sep 2026 16:00:00 UTC. The leaderboard shows a countdown to the end of the current round.
  • When a round ends, the top 3 coins by trading volume in that round win. Rewards are sent automatically to each winning coin's creator — the wallet that claimed its cell.
  • Only trades made during the round count, starting 10 minutes before the coin's image inscription completed — so your launch, dev buy and first trades count, but volume from long before a coin joined the grid doesn't.
  • Ties go to the coin with more unique traders, then to the one inscribed first.
  • Results become final a few minutes after the round ends, once every trade in it has been confirmed and counted. Winners are listed under "past rounds", and the same coin can win again in later rounds.

All rankings come from public on-chain data, so anyone can check them.

+What if something fails partway through?

If your coin launched but the claim + image step didn't finish (for example, you rejected the last wallet prompt or closed the tab), open the claim page again with the same wallet — it remembers your coin and offers "finish claiming", which claims whichever cell is free.

+Which wallets work?

Phantom, Solflare, Backpack and other Solana wallets that support the Wallet Standard.

+Is this financial advice?

No. Memecoins are extremely speculative and can go to zero. Launching, holding and inscribing spend real SOL, and transactions can't be undone. Only use funds you can afford to lose.
